Hanoi: Local residents pledge to protect Vietnam’s bears

On May 22 and 23, ENV held a mobile exhibition on bear protection at Big C supermarket in Hanoi. The exhibition displayed information boards on Vietnam’s bears’ threats with an aims to raise public awareness on the alarming reality of illegal keeping and trading of bears in the country. The exhibition also called on people to protect Vietnam’s bears and encouraged the public not to use or consume bear bile and bear products. During the exhibition, there were 1,221 people signing their commitments to protect Vietnam’s bears.

So far this year, ENV has collected 7,069 pledges to protect Vietnam’s bears via 12 similar exhibitions carried out throughout Vietnam.
