Vietnam Bear Day: Almost 3000 bear pledges were signed!

Vietnam Bear Day (September 13, 2012) was a great success as the message to end bear farming in Vietnam was spread far and wide.

Thousands of visitors spent time at the public exhibits in seven major cities throughout the country, including Hanoi, Ha Long, Hai Phong, Vinh, Da Nang, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City. ENV collected almost 3000 signed pledges from people committing not to use bear bile or bear products. The exhibits were especially popular in Vinh and Ha Long city, where we actually ran out of pledge cards for people to sign!

Almost 60 journalists were present at the press conference, and so far ENV has received coverage on four different TV stations (with VTV4 doing three versions of the story in Vietnamese, English and Russian), and more than 40 different newspapers and online news sites.
