Quang Tri: Wildlife trade across Vietnam-Laos border
Quang Tri coastguards have prosecuted a case involving wildlife trade across the Vietnam-Laos border. On March 7, Quang Tri coastguards working with local authorities discovered a car transporting the body of a tiger weighing 95kg, the body of a black panther weighing 27kg, and 2 tons of wildlife bone.

Hanoi: Wildlife specimens confiscated
Hanoi Environmental Police conducted checks on five restaurants along Tro Wharf at Huong pagoda and discovered all five restaurants illegally displaying wildlife specimens.

Phu Yen: Company fined 65 million VND for petrol leakage
On March 12, the Phu Yen People’s committee fined a company 65 million VND for breaking environmental protection laws. The company was responsible for the leakage of 210 liters of petrol into the environment.

Đac Nong: Director dismissed for helping loggers
The director of the Dac Ha Forestry Enterprise was dismissed when it was found he had provided false records in 2008. Loggers had destroyed a large percentage of forest area but the Director recorded much lower figures.
