Thanh Hoa: A macaque confiscated
On January 3, 2012, ENV received a call reporting a rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) being kept at a resident’s house in Thanh Hoa town. ENV immediately transferred the information to the Forest Protection Department (FPD) in Thanh Hoa. On January 4, the FPD checked the site and confiscated the macaque. The macaque is being kept temporarily in Thanh Hoa FPD and they intend to release it into the forest.
