Monk-ey business

What do you do if you release a wild animal, but it comes right back to you? ENV are ready to help! This macaque was abandoned by a family at a pagoda and taken in by the resident monk, whose attempt to free it to the surrounding forest was allegedly unsuccessful.

He says the monkey found its way back to the pagoda and refused to leave. Fortunately, an ENV volunteer heard about the case and our Wildlife Crime Unit set to work. After the local authorities visited the monk and heard his incredible story, they persuaded him to say his goodbyes and allow the macaque to be transferred to the care of the local conservation center.
