Two weeks of tracking down “mobile macaque” succeeded!

Finding wildlife crimes reported at a fixed location is difficult enough; it’s even more difficult to track down a mobile violation.
In late February, ENV received an alert from a tourist about a street vendor who was using a macaque as an attraction on Mui Ne beach, in Binh Thuan province. Since the vendor was constantly moving, ENV had to contact a local resident for intensive observation in the reported area. After a fortnight of effort, the resident was finally able to identify the exact location of the street vendor and immediately inform ENV. Better still, when the local authorities, coordinated by ENV, found the vendor they were able to rescue not only one but two macaques on spot.
