Fact sheet on Elephant Poaching
Asia is recognized as a major market for poached ivory. This useful fact sheet highlights the brutal poaching methods and issues of ivory supply and demand. It was published by the African Conservation Foundation, IUCN NL and the Environmental Investigation Agency (UK) in 2013.
Myths of magical medicinal value, amongst other factors, have resulted in the recent exponential increase in demand for rhino horn in Vietnam. This fact sheet provides a great overview of the rhino poaching crisis, and supply and demand issues. An analysis of attitudes and bear bile use in rural areas of Vietnam (May 2012)
The latest survey, carried out by ENV, indicates that more than 30% of those surveyed in rural communities, mostly in the northern region of Vietnam, have consumed bear bile. Comparing the findings to an earlier ENV study of urban bear bile users, attitudes and behaviors were quite similar between users in rural and urban centers.
Updated version of "New Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Identification Resource"
An updated version of the “New Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Identification Resource” was released by ENV in April 2012, the Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center (TCC) and the Asian Turtle Program (ATP).
The event ‘100,000 pledges not to use bear bile and bear products’ was organized by Education For Nature-Vietnam (ENV) at Pico Commercial Center, 299 Tay Son St., Dong Da District, Hanoi on September 30, 2012. The event aims to mark an achievement that 100,000 Vietnamese participants who signed pledges to protect bears in Vietnam.

Hanoi, September 30, 2011- Vietnamese super-star and 2010 idol, Uyen Linh, joined Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) at the Pico Mall in Hanoi where she told fans and journalists that she would never use bear bile, and urged others to help put an end to the exploitation of bears.
Pangolin Trade Synopsis June 2011
There are two species of pangolin native to Vietnam, the Chinese pangolin (Manis pentadactyla) and the Sunda pangolin (Manis javanica). The Chinese pangolin inhabits the northern regions of the country, whereas the Sunda pangolin is found in the south.

Asian Turtle Crisis Fact Sheet released (April 1, 2010)
ENV has produced a fact sheet to promote understanding and better protection for Vietnam’s tortoises and freshwater turtles, threatened by hunting and trade.
New Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Identification Resource (March 31, 2010)
ENV and our partners from the Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center and the Asian Turtle Program have produced an electronic identification guide for law enforcement officers to the tortoises and freshwater turtles of Vietnam. The resource, updated annually, will be distributed to frontline wildlife protection officers throughout Vietnam.
