Environmental Education and Training
Training Environmental Educators
ENV has conducted nearly 60 environmental education and communication training programs for teachers, community stakeholder groups and staff from national parks and protected areas throughout Vietnam.
ENV training programs are mostly held at ENV's National Environmental Education Training Center in Tam Dao National Park, which includes a community-based awareness program for local schools and villages. The program gives trainees the opportunity to gain practical teaching experience. ENV's Mobile Wildlife Awareness Unit also travels to protected areas across Vietnam to conduct onsite training courses.
Supporting Environmental Educators
ENV provides support and resources to environmental educators working in protected areas through our Environmental Education Family Network. Resources produced by ENV include a weekly environment news bulletin, environmental education curricula, plays and puppet shows, films, and posters.
Green Forest, is ENV's bi-annual children's nature magazine with a nationwide readership of an estimated 300 000. Each issue focuses on significant environmental topics and includes student contributions.
Developing Community programs
ENV has contributed to the development of community-based awareness initiatives in more than 30 other protected areas. Programs are designed to increase awareness of environmental issues ranging from local biodiversity to global climate change, and take a variety of formats for different audiences, including Nature Clubs at schools and adult-focused awareness meetings in villages.
